Joomla Tutorials: How to Manage Registered Users on a Joomla Web Site

How to change a user’s user name or password:

1) Log into www.yoursitename.com/administrator

2) On the first page after logging in, choose “user management” (If you are already logged in, you can access this page by hitting “Home” in the top row of menus across the top of the Joomla page

3) Choose the user from the list of users.

4) Change the user’s name or password

5) Click the disk icon to save.

How to Send a newsletter to all registered users on your Joomla site:

To send a newsletter to all registered users, follow the instructions below.

1) Log into www.yoursitename.com/administrator

2) Along the top row of menus, choose “components”.

3) Click “mass mail” in the drop down menu.

4) Type in your subject line and then your email.

5) Click “Send mail” at the top of the page.

How to delete a Member from your Joomla site:

1) Log into www.yoursitename.com/administrator

2) On the first page after logging in, choose “user management” (If you are already logged in, you can access this page by hitting “Home” in the top row of menus across the top of the Joomla page

3) Put a check mark next to the user you would like to delete.

4) Click the trashcan/delete icon at the top right of the page.

How to add a new member to your Joomla site:

1) Log into www.yoursitename.com/administrator

2) On the first page after logging in, choose “user management” (If you are already logged in, you can access this page by hitting “Home” in the top row of menus across the top of the Joomla page

3) Click the button that says “new” on the top right of the page.

4) Enter the user information.

5) Click the disk icon to save.

How to make a member an administrator for your Joomla site:

1.) Log into www.yoursitename.com/administrator

2.) On the first page after logging in, choose “user management” (If you are already logged in, you can access this page by hitting “Home” in the top row of menus across the top of the Joomla page

3.) Click the name of the user you would like to make an administrator.

4.) On the user information page, Choose “Super administrator” in the status box.

5.) Click the disk icon to save.
